Overview

Safe Working at Heights (Pre-recorded Webinar) course overview

Every day across New Zealand, workers carry out tasks at height using ladders, EWPs, and scaffolding. It only takes a split moment for something to go wrong, with consequences that can have a lasting impact on someone’s life. This pre-recorded Safe Working at Heights webinar builds the knowledge and understanding required to safely plan and carry out work at height.

We don’t treat working at height as a compliance exercise. Instead, this pre-recorded webinar focuses on reinforcing the key principles required to work safely at height. It covers how to identify hazards, apply the hierarchy of controls, and determine the most suitable systems for the task—whether that is fall arrest, scaffolding, or mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs). The course also reinforces how to interpret and apply legislative requirements in a practical way that supports safe decision-making on site.

Participants step back into the workplace equipped to identify risks, select appropriate controls, and ensure work is carried out safely.

Our approach

+IMPAC's Safe Working at Heights (Pre-recorded Webinar) training approach

IMPAC delivers this working at heights webinar as a self-paced learning experience built around clear explanations, practical examples, and scenario-based decision-making. Rather than relying on abstract rules, the course walks learners through how to spot common hazards, assess the level of risk, and apply the hierarchy of controls in a way that makes sense on site.

Across the webinar, learners work through examples involving ladders, scaffolding, mobile elevating work platforms, and fall arrest systems so the content stays grounded in the situations people face in real workplaces. The focus stays on helping learners understand how to make safer decisions before work starts and while conditions change, including selecting suitable systems and recognising when controls may no longer be effective.
