The course is ideal for anyone required to work at height as part of their job, including maintenance, cleaning, inspection, and service personnel.

Overview

Employ Height Safety Equipment in the Workplace course overview

When working at height is part of the daily job, it can be easy for complacency to slip in. Over time, this can lead to shortcuts, incorrect use of equipment, and increased risk of a fall. This Employ Height Safety Equipment in the Workplace course builds the knowledge and skills required to safely select, use, and inspect height safety equipment in the workplace.

We don’t treat this course as something to rush through just to meet a requirement. Delivered in-house on your site, our industry-experienced trainers focus on the equipment, systems, and risks your workers encounter in their day-to-day tasks. Participants develop an understanding of selecting appropriate equipment, identifying suitable anchor points, and correctly applying fall restraint and fall arrest systems. The course also reinforces the importance of planning for rescue and emergency response.

IMPAC’s focus is on building practical capability so workers can safely carry out work at height as part of their role. Participants step back into the workplace equipped to select the right equipment, use it correctly, and ensure work is carried out safely.

Curriculum

What you'll cover

This course is designed for:
  • Workers who need to use height safety equipment as part of routine maintenance, cleaning, plant operation, inspections, and servicing activities.
  • Supervisors and team leaders overseeing work at height in non-construction environments.
  • Facilities, utilities, and service staff working at height where fixed or temporary safety systems are already in place.

Our approach

+IMPAC's Employ Height Safety Equipment in the Workplace training approach

This course combines clear trainer-led explanation with practical application, so learners can understand not just what the equipment is, but how to use it properly in day-to-day work. Participants work through the decisions that matter on site, including how to identify suitable equipment for the task, how to recognise appropriate anchor points, and when fall restraint or fall arrest is the right control.

Training is grounded in the kinds of situations where people can get caught out through familiarity, rushed setup, or poor equipment checks. Learners discuss common height work situations, practise safe equipment use, and work through the steps needed to support rescue planning and emergency response on site.
