Overview

Fire Warden Refresher (Pre-recorded Webinar) course overview

Skills and knowledge can fade over time, particularly when they are not used regularly. For fire wardens, this can impact confidence and how effectively they respond when an emergency occurs. This pre-recorded Fire Warden Refresher webinar is designed for fire wardens to revisit and strengthen their ability to respond effectively and lead others during an evacuation.

We move away from compliance-focused refreshers that rely on simply re-reading procedures. This pre-recorded webinar guides learners through the key elements of emergency response, reinforcing evacuation requirements, communication, and coordination in a clear and practical way. Participants revisit their role in managing fire drills, leading evacuations, communicating under pressure, and ensuring people are accounted for, as well as refreshing their understanding of hazard awareness and how to liaise effectively with emergency services.

IMPAC’s focus is on supporting learners to maintain a consistent, high-quality approach to their fire warden responsibilities. Participants finish the course with a refreshed understanding of their role, the confidence to take action when it matters, and access to an IMPAC pocket guide to support them in their role. They are ready to apply their skills in an emergency to support safe, well-managed evacuations.

Curriculum

What you'll cover

This course is designed for:

  • Designated fire wardens who already hold Unit Standard 18408 and need to refresh their emergency response capability.
  • Team leaders, supervisors, and managers who may need to lead people clearly and calmly during a workplace evacuation.
  • HR professionals and safety coordinators who support workplace emergency preparedness and training records.
  • Organisations in workplaces such as hospitality, healthcare, education, manufacturing, and office environments where clear evacuation leadership matters.

Our approach

+IMPAC's Fire Warden Refresher (Pre-recorded Webinar) training approach

IMPAC delivers this fire warden refresher training as a focused online learning experience built around the decisions wardens need to make when an alarm sounds. Rather than repeating policy wording, the training focuses on the practical parts of the role, including recognising hazards, understanding evacuation requirements, communicating clearly, and supporting a safe, organised response.

The webinar reinforces where evacuations can break down, such as delayed responses, unclear handovers, and gaps in accountability. The focus stays on what matters: judgement, coordination, and confidence so learners can apply the refresher directly in their own workplace.
