While this exact course is not specifically required by legislation, training is commonly used to help supervisors understand their responsibilities, support safe work practices, and respond effectively to workplace risks.

No prior health and safety training is required for this course. It is designed for supervisors, team leaders, and frontline managers who need practical guidance on their day-to-day health and safety leadership responsibilities.

Yes. This course is available as a public course, through in-house delivery, and live online via Zoom. This gives organisations flexibility to enrol individual leaders in scheduled sessions or deliver training for groups of supervisors within their own workplace context.

The course runs for 1 day, allowing learners to work through leadership responsibilities, hazard and risk management, incident response, and practical ways to lead safe behaviours in everyday work.

The course covers the practical aspects of health and safety leadership at frontline level. That includes why health and safety is managed, key duties under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, health and safety culture, health and safety management systems, hazard and risk management, incident response and investigation, performance measurement, and leading through values, behaviours, and capability.

IMPAC recommends supervisors revisit health and safety leadership training regularly to help maintain consistent communication, risk management, and frontline safety leadership practices across teams.
