Overview

Height Equipment Inspection Seminar course overview

Height safety equipment is not just another set of tools to be thrown in the back of the ute. It is relied on to protect workers when something goes wrong, and if it is not properly inspected and maintained, it may not perform when it is needed most. This Height Equipment Inspection Seminar builds the knowledge and understanding required to safely inspect, maintain, and manage height safety and industrial rope access equipment.

We don’t treat equipment inspection as a quick visual check or a paperwork exercise. Instead, our industry-experienced trainers focus on developing a clear understanding of how to identify wear, defects, and damage, and how to apply manufacturer care and maintenance requirements in a practical way. Participants also learn how to interpret legal duties under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and maintain accurate, traceable inspection records that support safe work practices.

IMPAC’s focus is on building confidence in those responsible for managing height safety equipment. Participants step back into the workplace equipped to identify when equipment is no longer fit for purpose, carry out appropriate maintenance, and ensure inspection records are accurate and complete.

Our approach

+IMPAC's Height Equipment Inspection Seminar training approach

This harness inspection training is delivered as a practical, trainer-led seminar centred on the decisions people need to make when they are responsible for height safety and rope access equipment. Trainers work through how to examine equipment methodically, interpret manufacturer care and maintenance instructions, spot defects or wear, and decide when equipment should be maintained, removed from service, or escalated.

Participants work through practical inspection activities, equipment examples, and documentation tasks that reflect what happens in real workplaces. The training focuses on consistent inspection processes, traceable recordkeeping, and the practical management of harnesses, lanyards, ropes, karabiners, pulleys, helmets, and related safety equipment.
