Overview
Mobile Elevated Work Platforms - Theory, Scissor Lift & Self Propelled Boom Refresher course overview
“I’ve been using MEWPs for years” is a common mindset when operating this equipment. Over time, it can become easy to rely on familiarity and let attention drift, particularly during setup and positioning. This is where safe practices can slip and risk increases. This Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWP) Refresher course revisits the knowledge and skills required to safely assess, set up, and operate MEWPs, with a focus on scissor lifts and self-propelled boom lifts.
We don’t treat refresher training as something to rush through just to meet a requirement. Instead, our industry-experienced trainers deliver a structured, face-to-face course that reinforces the critical elements that can slip over time. Participants revisit worksite assessment, ground conditions, positioning, and safe operation, before applying those skills on both scissor lifts and self-propelled boom lifts. The course also refreshes understanding of risk management, permit requirements, and emergency and rescue procedures.
IMPAC’s focus is on ensuring operators maintain a high standard of performance when working with MEWPs. Participants step back into the workplace with refreshed knowledge and a renewed focus on applying controls correctly, identifying risks, and safely operating scissor and boom lift equipment.
