Relying on an outdated evacuation plan and assuming someone else will take charge during an emergency does little to keep people safe. When roles and responsibilities are not clearly understood before the alarm sounds, confusion can have serious consequences during an emergency. This two-hour Fire Warden Awareness Seminar is designed to build understanding of fire warden responsibilities and how to support a safe and coordinated evacuation.
 
We don’t rely on endless PowerPoint slides or long lectures. Our industry-experienced trainers guide learners through the key elements of emergency response in a clear and practical way. Participants gain an understanding of the fire warden role, evacuation procedures, and how fire drills are carried out. The seminar also introduces fire prevention, basic fire control measures, and the role of fire safety equipment, along with how to support wardens and communicate effectively during an emergency.
 
IMPAC’s focus is on building awareness and understanding of fire warden responsibilities across the workplace. Participants leave with a clear understanding of the role and how they can support safe evacuations, along with practical guidance they can apply in their day-to-day work.

This seminar is run in a practical, discussion-led way so learners can work through what a good evacuation response looks like before an alarm ever sounds. Facilitators use plain-English explanations, workplace examples, and short scenarios to help participants think through fire warden duties, evacuation routes, assembly points, headcounts, communication, and the moments where confusion usually creeps in.
 
Rather than treating emergency response as a policy document, the session focuses on what people need to notice, say, and do in the workplace. Learners talk through fire hazards, fire drill expectations, the role of basic fire safety equipment, and how wardens support a calm, organised evacuation without overcomplicating the process.
 
By the end of the seminar, participants have had the chance to test decisions, ask practical questions, and connect the course content to the sort of emergency arrangements they deal with at work. That helps the learning stick and makes it easier to support safer, better co-ordinated evacuations day to day.

No previous fire warden experience is required. The session is designed as an awareness-level seminar, so it works for people who are new to the role as well as those who need a clearer understanding of evacuation expectations.

The seminar runs for 2 hours, providing a focused introduction to fire warden responsibilities without requiring staff to be away from work for a full day.

This seminar covers the essentials of the fire warden role and how to support a safe evacuation. Learners work through responsibilities, evacuation procedures, fire drills, hazard awareness, basic fire prevention, and the communication needed to keep people informed during an emergency.

Learners receive a Certificate of Completion from IMPAC.

IMPAC recommends refresher training at least every two years to keep emergency preparedness current. This is especially important where staff, layouts, hazards, or evacuation procedures change over time.
