Overview

Job Safety Analysis (Pre-recorded Webinar) course overview

Scribbling on a Job Safety Analysis (JSA) form to tick a compliance box without actually considering the task and environment isn’t managing risk—it’s just a piece of paper. This pre-recorded JSA webinar is designed for anyone involved in operations and maintenance who needs to know how to carry out a Job Safety Analysis for new or existing tasks. It builds understanding of how to define tasks, break them into steps, identify hazards, assess risk, and apply effective controls.

We focus on practical training, not just theory or death by paperwork. This pre-recorded webinar guides learners through the JSA process in a clear and structured way, supported by worked examples and activities. Participants develop the skills to analyse tasks step by step, consider the environment in which the work is carried out, and identify hazards and risks. They also learn how to apply appropriate risk control measures, including the use of the hierarchy of controls, to ensure risks are effectively managed.

IMPAC’s focus is on building capable people who can apply JSA in a practical way to support safe work. Participants finish the course with a clear understanding of how to complete and use job safety analyses effectively, ready to apply their skills to identify risks before they cause harm.

Curriculum

What you'll cover

This course is designed for:

  • Workers involved in operations and maintenance who need to carry out a job safety analysis for new or existing tasks.
  • Supervisors and team leaders who need a clearer, more consistent approach to task breakdown, hazard identification, and risk controls before work starts.
  • Health and safety representatives, advisors, and coordinators supporting safe operating procedures and work method statements.
  • Anyone responsible for checking that a task has been thought through properly before people begin work.

Our approach

+IMPAC's Job Safety Analysis (Pre-recorded Webinar) training approach

This course teaches job safety analysis as a practical thinking process, not a form-filling exercise. The training focuses on defining the work, breaking it into clear steps, understanding the environment around the task, and identifying where hazards and controls sit before the job begins.

Delivered as a pre-recorded webinar, learners can move through the material in a structured sequence and revisit key sections when needed. The course uses clear explanations and guided examples to show how JSA connects to work method statements, safe operating procedures, and day-to-day decision-making in real workplaces.
