The ACC Partnership and WSMP Programmes

How to assist in planning a health and safety management systems audit

Auditing specific health and safety issues.

This course includes an off-course assessment audit.


An essential part of effective health and safety management is the ability to review and evaluate performance and to identify and prioritise areas for improvement. An internal health and safety auditor needs good knowledge of key New Zealand health and safety management standards. They must also be able to plan and conduct an audit, document and report results. This course is ideal for internal auditors, safety advisers and other staff with responsibility for auditing or evaluation. It is a compulsory paper for the National Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety Level 4. People undertaking this course are expected to have an understanding of quality systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
